Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s hard to believe we’re halfway through the academic year. This week I have been in and out of classrooms observing teaching and learning. The children are working hard and have recently been evaluating their own progress, and identifying targets for themselves in English and Maths. I am very proud of their hard work and perseverance.
I would also like to thank the staff for their commitment to providing high quality learning experiences that both enthuse and motivate our children. As you know, the role of class teacher is complex and includes pastoral care as well as education. Each year group also has a Phase Leader: Mrs Swinbank in Early Years; Mrs Jameson and Miss Blackwell in Years 1 and 2; Mrs King for Years 3 and 4 and Mrs Anderson-Harrison for Years 5 and 6. If you have any queries or concerns about your child, your first point of contact is the class teacher. If you feel you need more information or your issue is not resolved, please feel free to contact the Phase Leader with responsibility for your child’s year group.
Should you need to discuss a more serious incident or concern, our designated safeguarding officers are Mrs Whistler, Miss Nagle (Deputy Headteacher), Mrs Heath (School Business Manager) and Mrs Swinbank. Please do contact us immediately if you have any safeguarding concerns.
Have a good weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs A Whistler
Headteacher
