Friday Bulletin – 15th January 2016
Kells Lane children were very excited to see the snow arrive this week. The school and surrounding areas look beautiful when covered in snow, but getting on with everyday life can be difficult at times. The weather forecast for the coming weeks will likely feature more wintry showers and perhaps more significant snow. It is extremely uncommon for schools to be forced to close; however, it is worth making sure school has your most up-to-date contact details. Local news and radio also keep parents updated, as would the school website.
Work on the new school website is well underway. The website team, headed up by Miss Wilson, are liaising with the designer and hope to go live in approximately eight weeks.
Year 4 enjoyed their day learning about Ancient Egypt at the Great North Museum this week. Next week Year 5 will be out of school taking part in safety workshops. These workshops explore aspects of road safety and community values. I am sure the children will enjoy the experience and gain some valuable insight.
Finally, congratulations and well done to Newcastle United’s lucky charm, Zach in 3A, for his contribution as chief mascot during Tuesday night’s match against Manchester United. Zach accompanied both captains onto the pitch: perhaps how his luck rubbed off so evenly!
Have a good weekend.
