Friday Bulletin – Friday 15th April 2016

Welcome back to school after what I hope was an enjoyable Easter holiday. Here we are at the beginning of the summer term; I do hope we see a change in the weather to reflect this new title.
There are lots of exciting adventures ahead this term and this week is no exception. Our Year 4 pupils kick started the new term with a residential visit to Dukeshouse Wood in Hexham, whilst Year 3 travelled to York to dig for Viking artefacts. I will publish articles and photographs of some of the events in school in my next newsletter, which will now be published three times each academic year, just before half term. I will continue to send you weekly updates through this bulletin.
I hope you have found our new online booking system for parents’ evening more convenient than previous procedures. Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback. As with all new systems, there are bound to be some glitches. Please do let us know if you have any problems accessing the system. As ever, if you are unable to make the dates and times provided, please contact your child’s teacher to make alternative arrangements. I am also pleased to inform you our new school website is almost ready for launch. I will keep you updated on the official launch date.
The school dining hall was subject to some investigatory work during the Easter holidays. I am awaiting a report and recommendations, which I am assured, will be available early next week. Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding; please be assured I am working in conjunction with Governors and the Local Authority to resolve this issue as early as is practicable.
Governors also wrote to you at the end of last term to inform you of possible changes to the school’s staffing structure. Please be assured we are sharing as much information with you as is possible at this time. Many thanks for your ongoing support and valued feedback.
Have a good weekend.
Mrs A Whistler
