Friday Bulletin 17th June 2016

17 June 2016

As many of you know, I have been in Holland with Year 6 this week. Throughout my experience of leading residential visits, I have always found them to be enormously beneficial to a child’s social and emotion development. Children often come back with a greater confidence in their own independence and resilience. I am looking forward to hearing our groups’ reflections upon our return.

As promised last week, here are some of the children’s responses following a recent pupil voice survey:

What I really like about our school is…

  • ‘how everybody is kind and respectful’
  • ‘art, maths, food e.g. pizza and chicken’
  • ‘I like the different events e.g. International Day’
  • ‘the teachers and staff’
  • ‘everyone is one big family, we are all nice to each other’
  • ‘I like how we do lots of learning in school’
  • ‘that there are lots of things to do like music lessons and football’
  • ‘ I like how it sometimes feels like we’re playing instead of learning’

I think our school could be improved by…

  • ‘more equipment to play with on the yard’
  • ‘an ice cream van on hot days’
  • ‘having more options for lunch’
  • ‘butterflies’
  • ‘better toilets’
  • ‘more toys and sports’
  • ‘some of our computers are very slow ’
  • ‘a tree house with lots of swings and slides’

See you all next week; have a great weekend.

Mrs A Whistler
