Dear Parents and Carers,
Many of you will have seen the Newcastle Eagles ‘Hoops 4 Health’ programme on the news recently. Our Year 6 pupils will be taking part in the coaching programme and subsequent competitions during the summer term, and our basketball coach, Anthony Forrester, is currently working with pupils in Year 2 and Year 5. If your child is interested in finding out more about basketball, please see the link below for details of a new Saturday club in the area.

Our whole school assemblies this half term are linked to teamwork skills and how we can learn from the animal world. For example, we will observe how elephants work as a team to protect their young from predators, and how birds take turns accepting the leadership role when flying in formation. Our aim is for children to understand that competition is healthy and can help to motivate us to achieve our goals, however; we need to embrace the skills others and work as a team to achieve great things.
Have a great weekend, and good luck to all our teams.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs A Whistler
Headteacher
