Friday Bulletin – Friday 20th May 2016
Next week is the last one of this half term. As we approach the final half term of this academic year, staff are busy collating progress and achievement information to share with parents in an end of year report. I have chosen a new format for the reports this year; it will now include some pieces of work the children are particularly proud of, and a whole class photograph. You will receive your child’s report towards the end of next half term.
We are also busy planning our annual Saturday morning transition event. This will be held on Saturday 25th June from 10am to midday. Transition morning is a chance to meet your child’s new teacher in preparation for September, find out about the topics for the year ahead, and take part in activities alongside your child. This event is aimed at increasing confidence and reducing anxiety levels for children prior to the summer holidays. We are also keen to provide the opportunity for parents and grandparents to get to know more unfamiliar members of staff, ready for a smooth transition in September. You will receive more information about your child’s new class teacher when we return from the half term break.
Finally, well done to all the athletes who took part in the Children’s Cancer Run last Sunday at Newcastle Racecourse. It was a superb family event, definitely one to add to the Kells Lane annual calendar. We don’t have a final total yet, but I can tell you that our families have raised over £400 so far. Thank you so much to everyone involved.

Have a great weekend.
