Friday Bulletin – 30th September 2016

30 September 2016

We have been successful in securing the Silver Kite Award: part of the Gateshead School Sport Partnership’s London 2012 legacy programme ‘Blazing the Trail’.  This award is for ‘outstanding hard work and commitment to sustaining a legacy from London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games’. A big thank you from me to all of the staff and volunteers involved, including all those who helped to organise and supervise the events. Kells Lane pupils took part in many different activities to achieve this award, including the Gateshead Dance Festival at the Sage and our Olympic Extravaganza in school. We are planning a wide variety of events for the coming year, including several new after-school clubs.

It is particularly important to leaders and governors at Kells Lane that we maintain a broad and balanced curriculum which enables our pupils to learn about the importance of sport and how much there is to gain from taking part in community events.

We have had another busy week at school so perhaps I shouldn’t be quite so shocked that we find ourselves at the end of September already!

I hope you all have a good weekend.
