Dear Parents and Carers,
As election fever hits the news, we are preparing for our own elections at Kells Lane in the coming weeks. Just a day before the General Election, children will be voting for some new school councillors to take up their posts in September. Our process is changing slightly this year; I have included the advert below for your information.
SCHOOL COUNCIL 2017 – 2018
This year the members of the school council decided to change the process of application.
The application process will now be similar to applying for a job.
To apply to be a school Councillor please follow the steps below:
- Read the job description and the skills needed and decide if you should apply.
- Write a letter of application to Mrs King and the School Council explaining why you would be suitable for the post.
- Submit your letter of application by dropping it into the school council box in the KS2 hall.
- The members of the school council, with Mrs King, will read and consider all applications before shortlisting to 4 applications per class.
- The short listed members will then present in assembly and then children will vote on 4 school council members.
Short listing date:
THURSDAY 25TH MAY 2017
ALL APPLICATIONS TO BE IN THE BOX BEFORE 9.00 AM ON THIS DATE IF YOU WISH TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A POST.
