Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to school after what I hope was a relaxing and enjoyable summer holiday.
We’ve had an incredibly positive start to the school year. There is already an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation amongst the children and staff: we can’t wait to see what lies ahead in the coming year. A very warm welcome to our new families in Early Years. The children have settled in so quickly and seem to be fully embracing and enjoying school life.
There are lots of plans afoot for the coming year. We think our school is a great place to be but we are always striving to make further improvements. With that in mind, we are going to focus on making sure all our pupils enjoy their learning and make as much progress as they possibly can. We want to develop academic skills, and to encourage our children to become musicians, historians, artists, scientists, or whatever else they desire. Our children continue to demonstrate huge amounts of integrity and kindness; we will continue to nurture this. We will also focus on developing our ‘Growth Mindset’ approach: encouraging our children to become independent thinkers with oodles of motivation and perseverance.
Speaking of motivation and perseverance, good luck to all the children, parents and staff running in this Sunday’s Great North Run. I’m sure it will be very special – whatever the weather!
Have a great weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs A Whistler
Headteacher
