Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for coming to our Sports Day at Joseph Swan Academy today. Huge thanks to the PE department for organising such a special day for us.
It’s hard to believe next week is the last week of term. School finishes for all children next Thursday, but before then, we have a graduation ceremony for our youngest children and a special presentation evening for our oldest. For those of you with children moving on to secondary school, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support over the years and wish you and your families the very best for the future.
It’s the end of an era for Miss Nagle too. She will be leaving us next week after 13 years of exceptional service to the school. I’m sure you will join me in thanking her and wishing her the very best of luck for all future adventures.
Just a quick reminder that arrangements for drop off in September are slightly different. The details are as follows:
Reception Classes – doors will open between 8.50 am and 9 am
Years 1 – 6 – doors will open between 8.45 am and 9 am
Please note that all children will be asked to come straight in rather than line up on the playground. Unless there are exceptional circumstances e.g. medical appointments, all children should arrive at school by 9 am. All children who arrive after 9 am will need to go to the main school office.
Some of you may be aware that I have been away from school a little this term completing training as an Ofsted Inspector. This means that I now undertake inspection work and will occasionally be away from school for short periods. I am sure you will appreciate this is beneficial to the school moving forward.
It would be remiss of me to end the school year without thanking the children and staff for all their hard work and endless energy and enthusiasm. I really am very proud of everything we have achieved this year.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your continued support this year. I hope you have a restful summer break and look forward to hearing about the children’s adventures in September.
Very best wishes for a lovely summer.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs A Whistler
Headteacher
