Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, a huge welcome to our new nursery and reception children who have joined us this week. I hope you have enjoyed your first week at school!
Although many restrictions have eased in relation to COVID, Gateshead have asked us to encourage parents/carers to continue to wear a face covering during drop off/pick up times. As you know, our school is limited to the number of exits and entrances for the children to use. This week we have introduced collection points for our pupils in years 1-3. This is to try and encourage parents not to gather around the doorway and to allow other parents to pass through. Could we ask that you do not arrive early to pick up your child and that, if you are waiting to collect siblings, please use the space on the yard to prevent crowds building up. We are continuing to use the one-way system when entering and exiting the grounds; this must be followed at all times.
Next week, work will continue in our early years outdoor area. This work should take around 2 weeks to complete and the final result will provide an exciting new outdoor space for our nursery and reception children.
Finally, please see below the timetable for PE which will begin next week. Your child should come to school wearing their PE kit on their PE day, in line with our school uniform policy.
Can I wish all of you taking part in this year’s Great North Run the best of luck. Hopefully the weather will be kind to you.
Mrs R Swinbank
