Friday Update – 18th September 2020

18 September 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

All children from Year 1 to Year 6 should bring home their own personal log in for Google Classroom today. This is the platform we will use to provide home learning should a return to remote learning be necessary. You will receive both your child’s username and temporary password. For security reasons, you will need to help your child to change their password when they first log in. Please remember to make a note of the new password.

Google Classroom allows children to access a wide range of activities set by their teacher on a daily basis. This includes powerpoints and worksheets, quizzes and open-ended questions, alongside helpful videos and educational games. Children will also be able to directly communicate with their teacher and receive feedback on their work.

Should a return to remote learning be required, Google Classroom will replace the online learning facility previously accessed on the school website. We will use Google Classroom should your child be required to self-isolate and is unable to attend school. You will find a handy parents’ guide to Google Classroom inside the pack, you can also download a copy on the school website at https://www.kellslaneschool.org/google-classroom-september-2020/.

Thank you for taking the time to read this information and for helping your child to set up their Google Classroom account. If you have any problems or queries about Google Classroom, please speak to your child’s class teacher or email the school at KellsLane@klps.org.uk.
