Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you enjoyed your Easter break. It was lovely to welcome the children back to school in the sunshine this week.
You may see some new faces on the playground as we welcomed four trainee teachers to Kells Lane this week. They are all on their final placements ready to take on their first teaching jobs in September.
The trainees are working alongside teachers in Year 1 and 2:
Year 1 Oak: Mr Jobes (who is also a former Kells Lane pupil)
Year 1 Pine: Miss Johnston-Bolton
Year 2 Poplar: Mr Bostyan
Year 2 Juniper: Miss Forster
We also welcomed Mr Wells to Kells Lane this week. Mr Wells is an extremely experienced teacher who will be working with groups of children across key stage two to help boost their confidence.
Next week, you will receive an interim progress report for your child. This will give you a brief summary of the English and maths curriculum we will cover in the summer term. It will also give you information about what your child will be working on that is specific to them and how well they have settled back into school since March. I hope you find these useful. You will also receive your child’s annual report in July as normal.
I hope you have a lovely weekend and let’s hope the sun continues to shine!
Mrs A Whistler
