There is a daily act of collective worship in school, which is broadly Christian in nature. We have weekly whole school assemblies with Mrs Whistler, assemblies delivered by our teachers and School Council and Sports Ambassador led assemblies.
Parents who are considering exercising their right to withdraw their children from the daily assembly are asked to first speak to the Headteacher to find out what alternative provision can be arranged.
This takes place on a Friday morning and is an opportunity for children to celebrate achievement inside and outside of school. Achievement, effort and good behaviour are encouraged and rewarded in the form of certificates and special rewards. The Kells Lane Team Captains announce how many team points have been awarded throughout the week, and we celebrate our ‘Stars of the Week’ as nominated by the teachers. Our resident puppies are awarded to the class who have behaved well during break and lunch times and Marvellous Marvin and his magic dustpan and brush goes to the tidiest classroom. Children are also able to bring in awards and certificates they have achieved outside of school.
