On the 22nd and the 23rd of June our school was visited by two former Olympic volleyball players, Nathan French and Peter Bakare, who competed in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
In the morning we had the chance to play volleyball. Throughout the session they kept throwing challenges at us, for example you had to make two passes or more before hitting the ball over the net, or only holding the ball for half a second. In the afternoon, we did a healthy living /well- being workshops and ‘Obi City’ memory challenge. We were put in groups to play pairs, turning two cards over to see if they matched. All the children in our school were able to participate over the two days.
We all enjoyed it so much that Mr McIntosh, who coordinates P.E in our school, has now included volleyball in our P.E. curriculum. Thank you Peter and Nathan; we had an ace day!
