We start Year 2 by taking a voyage across the seven seas. We find out about the wider world through our Oceans and Islands theme where the children have the opportunity to learn about the different continents and oceans that make up our planet. We will explore tales of adventure and pirates but will also learn about real life historical figures. We will investigate environmental issues that our oceans are now facing and suggest ways that we can all help. Later in the year, we travel back in history to investigate the Great Fire of London and compare this with the much more local Great Fire of Gateshead. In the Summer, we will venture outside to explore the micro-habitats of bugs before ending our year finding out about some of the Magnificent Monarchs of England who may have had an impact on society today!
We continue with our negotiated curriculum in year 2, building on the skills the children have used in year 1. Click the rainbow to find out more.
