For our final term we are going to journey back to prehistoric times and learn about the land of the dinosaurs. Once again our learning will be from a mixture of taught lessons and through our Rainbow Curriculum.
Art and Design
This term we are going to explore our creative side using clay to make model dinosaurs and we will learn how to use water colour paints to create backgrounds for our dinosaur silhouette pictures.
In DT we will be using our technical knowledge to make our own moving scenes. We will also explore ways to make moving dinosaurs before evaluating our finished products.
As we venture back to the land of the dinosaurs, we will explore the prehistoric period and learn where this goes on a time line.
We will also investigate the different theories and why the dinosaurs became extinct.
As we continue to learn about Judaism, we are going to find out about Shabbat/Chanukah. We will base our enquiries on the following questions:
Is Shabbat important to Jewish children?
Does celebrating Chanukah make Jewish children feel close to God?
Throughout the term we will use technology to research key facts and then to present our work in different ways.
We are going to learn about some famous musicians and compare the music they create. We will also listen to sounds in nature and think about ways to recreate these sounds with instruments.
We are going to continue our work on animals and find out about the things they eat. We will learn the words carnivore, herbivore and omnivore.
As it is the end of the year, we will also finish our weather survey and draw conclusions on what we have found.
This term we are going to learn about lots of different ways we can stay safe:
· Sun safety – why it is important to cover up
· Personal Safety – what to do in case of an emergency
· Emotional safety – why it is important to share our feelings
This term is all about our ball control. During our indoor sessions, we are going to learn how to send a ball over a net and when working outside we will be playing ball games involving kicking, catching or throwing.
In addition to the taught aspects of our curriculum we also provide children with many other opportunities to develop and extend their learning. Please click on the following link to find out more.
